Welcome Back

It is hard to believe that we have already reached the midway point in of Term 1, 2026! Staff and students have had a wonderful start to the year and our core business of quality teaching and engaged learning remains central to our focus and work in every classroom, every day.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back to all of our returning families and expend a special welcome to new families joining the Toogoolawah State High Community this year. As parents and caregivers, you are integral partners in learning, and we highly value your ongoing support and engagement.

At TSHS, we are very fortunate to have amazing teachers and support staff, outstanding programs and opportunities for students, and a wide range of wonderful facilities for students. Our students continue to achieve outstanding outcomes across all facets of schooling, and we are maintaining a strong commitment to maximising achievement for all of our learners.

TSHS Newsletter

Following consultation in Term 4 2025, we are moving to a newsletter publication schedule in Week 5 and 10 only in Terms 1 and 2. Toward the latter part of the semester, we will be seeking your feedback around our newsletter and its frequency moving forward. Daymap and Facebook are our preferred platforms for communications and as a school, we strongly encourage your engagement with both.

Investiture Ceremony

I had the privilege of being a part of my first TSHS Investiture Ceremony on Monday 16 February. What a wonderful ceremony it was! I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all members of our community who were able to attend this special ceremony. It was wonderful to be able to present badges to our 2026 Year 12s and student leaders and acknowledge their important roles within our school community.

We also had the opportunity to show our appreciation toward Mrs Tracey Tinney who is retiring from staff this year. She has been an invaluable support to the school for the last 36 years and will be dearly missed. We wish her the absolute best for her new adventures moving forward.

Committed to Achievement, Respectful and Responsible (C.A.R.R) Awards

Following the Investiture Ceremony, we proudly held the inaugural C.A.R.R Awards Ceremony that celebrated students’ excellent effort and behaviour throughout the previous semester. We had a large number of students who had achieved only A’s and/or B’s for Effort and Behaviour in Semester 2, 2025 and it was wonderful to see so many parents and caregivers in attendance to celebrate these achievements with us. The Semester 2 C.A.R.R Awards Ceremony will be held early in Term 3.

Year 7 parent meet and greet

It was lovely to connect and strengthen relationships with Year 7 parents and students at our recent after school meet and greet BBQ. Thank you to everyone that connected with us on Tuesday afternoon. We highly value your support.

Facilities update

The Tuckshop upgrade has been completed and is now fully operational. The quality of the finish and inclusions within the space is excellent and is greatly appreciated by staff and students. In addition, the beach volley courts that incorporate the long jump and triple jump tracks have also been completed and are wonderful addition to the school’s resources. The beach courts are currently getting a lot of use as students train for upcoming volleyball competitions.

Kind regards
