Welcome to 2026

While I welcome all our students and families back for another great year, I’d particularly like to warmly welcome our new students and families to our great school. Whether you are starting with a new Yr 7 student or are new to our community, I know that you are part of a great school that regularly gets the feedback of ‘punching well above its weight’. A boxing analogy that describes how a small and sometimes isolated school is part of great opportunities and outcomes for students that rival ‘bigger’ or ‘city’ schools.

Daymap Parent Portal

https://toogoolawahshs.eq.daymap.net/daymapconnect

All parents are reminded of the valuable tool you have in your Daymap account. Simply sign in with the email you provided the school (must be different for each parent/carer). Click ‘forgot password’ and follow the prompts. You can use a computer or download the ‘app’ on your smart phone.

Daymap provides access to:

- Attendance information

- Individualised student assessment calendars

- Calendars of broader school events and excursions

- Book parent teacher interviews

- Many staff publish assessment results as soon as they are marked meaning more frequent updates on your students’ achievement than termly reporting.

- Student Daymap accounts link them to class work, assessment and learning resources and can be accessed from home when absent.

School Photographs on Monday 16th March

www.qldschoolphotography.com.au (Access Key: HY3Z4FBG)

Students are to be in Formal Uniform (with tie) and will be asked to respect the School Dress Code for photos. Please see the front of your student’s diary for clarification of the School Dress Code including jewellery and hair accessories. Students have been reminded on parade and items not meeting the Dress Code will be removed.

Students will receive an envelope detailing how to order photos next week. Spares will be at the office. ‘Sibling’ photos require a separate envelop which can be collected from the school office. Best practice is for parents to order online www.qldschoolphotography.com.au (Access Key: HY3Z4FBG) otherwise the envelop needs to be returned on the day of photos.

Reminder: No Chewing Gum at School

A quick reminder to all students: Chewing gum is not allowed at school grounds. Unfortunately, gum that is irresponsibly disposed of—stuck under desks, on floors, carpet, or on concrete paths—creates a sticky mess that our hardworking cleaning staff must spend extra time removing. This is unfair and makes their jobs much harder.

Students who persist in chewing gum at school may be issued with lunchtime detentions. Please encourage your students to be respectful of our school environment and its cleaning staff and keep our school clean and gum-free!
