Spotlight on HOD Curriculum
Mr Troy Harris

Toogoolawah State High School students in Year 7 and Year 9 will participate in NAPLAN online in 2026. Students will complete the four tests—Writing, Reading Comprehension, Language Conventions, and Numeracy—using a laptop or computer in a secure test environment with a “Locked Down Browser.”
Practice Online Testing Environments Days
To help students prepare, our school will hold two familiarisation sessions between Tuesday, 3 March to Friday, 6 March. These sessions will give all students the opportunity to practice navigating the online testing environment. Teachers will provide appropriate support and guidance throughout these sessions to ensure students are familiar with the NAPLAN online format.

NAPLAN Testing Dates
Testing will take place from Wednesday, 12 March to Tuesday, 25 March. Please see the full schedule below for specific dates and times.

Accommodations for Students with Disabilities
Adjustments can be made for students with disabilities to ensure they can access the tests on an equivalent basis to other students. Please contact the school if you believe your child may require any special accommodations.
NAPLAN Withdrawal
In specific circumstances, students may be withdrawn from the NAPLAN testing program by their parent/carer. This is a matter for individual consideration in consultation with the school. Withdrawals are generally requested for reasons such as religious beliefs or philosophical objections to testing.
Some students may qualify for withdrawal from one or more NAPLAN tests. If you believe your child may be eligible for withdrawal, please contact Mr. Harris via email at tharr72@eq.edu.au to request a withdrawal form to be emailed to you.
Completed withdrawal forms must be returned to Mr. Harris or the school office by Friday, 6 March 2026.
