Health & PE

Welcome to Health & PE 2026 – we are looking forward to a wonderful year of participation, enjoyment, fitness and learning!  The goal of Health and PE is for students to develop their fundamental movement skills, build confidence, resilience and cooperation (which can be applied to other areas of learning and life) as well as an understanding of the importance of lifelong health and fitness for overall wellbeing.

Each term students will explore a different Health concept.  A range of PE skills, sports and activities will be addressed each term.  Fundamental movement skills will be taught and practised throughout the year in a variety of ways through skill drills, circuits, different sports, small group relays and activities as well as whole class games.

Each session will involve a mini health component followed by a session of physical activity which will include a warm up, skills practise, game/activity, cool down and reflection.

All classes will strive to earn stickers for their class chart through demonstration of positive behaviours for learning, which will culminate in the class earning a game/s of their choice at the end of term.  Looking forward to witnessing some wonderful responsibility, team work and support from our students!

Look out for District Sports Days each term where our students join with other schools in our district to participate in different sports.  This term we look forward to our Grade 3-6 students attending the District Schools AFL/Netball/Basketball Sports Day on Friday 27th March (more details soon).

Please remember school hats, sunscreen and water bottles on Tuesdays for PE as all lessons are outdoors (unless we are experiencing high temperatures or rainy/stormy weather).
