As we wrap up Term 1, it's a great opportunity to reflect on what a busy and productive term it has been.
In addition to their classroom learning, our Grade 5 students recently completed their NAPLAN assessments. It was fantastic to see their dedication and effort during this time. Meanwhile, Grade 4 students focused on refining their persuasive writing skills, while Grade 6 students worked on developing their debating techniques.
Across all year levels, students have been exploring figurative language and its use in different texts. They particularly enjoyed experimenting with personification, crafting creative letters to a variety of objects (see below).
Our interschool sports teams have shown tremendous growth throughout the term. While the scoreboard hasn’t always reflected a win, our students have continued to improve each week, closing the gap with our opposition. Most importantly, they have displayed outstanding sportsmanship, both at home and when visiting other schools.
It has been a fantastic term of learning, growth, and teamwork, and we look forward to an exciting Term 2 ahead!
Dear Ping Pong Table,
Why do you always bounce the ball the wrong way? I always try so hard to pass to my sister, but you hate me so much!
Much love hate,
Andreas.
Dear Black Marker,
Why, why do you keep running out? It hasn't even been two days. You have failed your one purpose. The one desperate time I needed you, your ink was blotted out of existence.
Really, thanks for nothing.
Dear Left Hand,
I do not like you one bit; you are very useless! You do not help me. My right hand is much better than you!
Aliyah.
Dear Pen (the one I'm using),
You are slowly failing me. Ink is running out and I am NOT happy. I use you to draw and write and I don't care if you die. I'll just buy another one. So don't fail me!
No love,
Gabi.
Dear Shoelaces,
Why have you not stayed together all week? If I trip, I'll sue you.
Yours sincerely,
Your Shoes.
