We cannot believe how quickly Term 1 has flown by! It has been a wonderful start to the year in the Grade 3/4 classrooms, filled with new friendships, exciting learning experiences, and lots of growth.

Wellbeing

Throughout the term, we have focused on understanding and managing our emotions. We have explored strategies to help them navigate different situations and practiced using our strengths to treat others with kindness and respect. We also delved into the importance of diversity, celebrating the many ways we are unique and discussing how we can show respect for differences in a positive way.

Writing

Our writing journey this term has been full of creativity and critical thinking! We strengthened our persuasive writing skills, learning different techniques to make our arguments more convincing. Debates in our classrooms were full of passion—especially when discussing whether our school should have a swimming pool! In narrative writing, students explored their imaginations, crafting stories that transported us from mysterious forests to the depths of outer space.

Maths

This term, we have worked hard to build our confidence in multiplication and division. We focused on times tables, two-digit and three-digit multiplication, and division strategies. Fun maths songs and engaging games helped reinforce these concepts, making learning both interactive and enjoyable!

Discovery

In Discovery, we explored the journeys of Australia’s First Peoples and the reasons why people throughout history have travelled long distances. We created detailed maps and secret letters to showcase our understanding. A highlight of the term was our Great Explorer Project, where we researched famous explorers, designed exciting powerpoint presentations, and confidently shared our findings with our peers.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and enthusiasm our students have shown this term. We look forward to another term of curiosity, growth, and exciting new challenges in Term 2!
