A big thank you to all students, staff, and families for their support during this year’s NAPLAN testing. We are pleased to report that over 95% of Year 7 and Year 9 students successfully completed the tests. Despite having to pivot after the information that the website crashed on day 1 our students went through without with very minimal disruption. Results for NAPLAN are out for the school in July.
A reminder that Thursday 2 April will be a 2:30pm finish. This day will also be a tribute to the retiring Mick Wilson; the staff will play a short form cricket game against "Micks XII" on the Wilson oval.
We hope the students enjoy a fun end to term and a great way to celebrate 50 years of Mr Wilson at Norwood.
We’re excited to invite all Year 7 families to a Pancake Breakfast on Wednesday, 1 April, in the Gym. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together, enjoy a delicious breakfast, and connect with fellow families.
We’re also looking forward to welcoming some of our primary school teachers and principals as well. It promises to be a fun and community-filled morning – we can’t wait to see you there!
As a part of our commitment to being a Cyber Safe School, each year we engage with the Cyber Safety Project who deliver a session for our Year 7’s on-site, as-well as inviting our College parent community to partake in 5 online webinars across the year.
The Year 7 session was held on 18 March where students learnt about prioritising online safety by learning about personal information protection, recognising cybercriminal tactics, understanding risks in online friendships and sharing intimate content, and knowing how to take control and report incidents of abuse and cyberbullying. They also spoke about the social media ban and why it's best to wait until you are 16 before using social media.
If any parents are interested, I've attached the flyer for the other parental sessions available.

Given this is the last newsletter before the break I want to thank all the students for a fantastic term. I've heard a whisper that there is going to be a special visitor on Tuesday dropping some eggs around the school!
Please have a safe Easter break and we look forward to seeing all students back on Monday, 20 April.
