Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is a French-created animated series set in Paris and is available on Netflix with French audio!
Bonjour, parents and students,
With assessments just around the corner in Week 6 for our Grade 5 and 6 students, everyone has been working hard to prepare for the content that will be covered. Thank you to all students for your patience, effort and enthusiasm during this time. We want to ensure that every student feels supported and confident as they approach the assessment period.
Below is a snapshot of what each year level will be exploring during Weeks 5–6:
Prep
Students have been learning about farm animals and identifying the appropriate colours for each animal.
Grade 1
Students have been learning how to use French greetings and talk about different emotions.
Grade 2
Students have been learning about body parts and how to describe illnesses. They will then learn how to say and write where they live, where they come from, and what language(s) they speak.
Grade 3
Students have been learning different French greetings and expressions of well wishes. They will then practise using these through an interactive drama script activity.
Grade 4
Students have been learning about reflexive verbs, which describe actions we do to ourselves (e.g. se réveiller = “to wake up”; je me réveille = “I wake up”), as well as how to use these with adverbs. Students will then create a slideshow presenting their daily routines using photographs they have taken.
Grade 5
Students have been learning French pronunciation rules, including liaisons and silent consonants. They will then complete an assessment covering the irregular verbs avoir and être, -ir verbs, the five French accents, and expressing quantities and measurements in French.
Grade 6
