School holidays in sight!

It’s the final countdown… that’s right, there’s less than two weeks until the school holidays. Most students’ routines will change over the break, which is completely normal – we want you to enjoy this time! Some students will be able to sleep-in for longer (there’s no 8:55am start to worry about!), others might go away with friends or families. You might take a break from sport or just have more free time each day. While we certainly don’t expect anyone to be structuring their lives around the school bell times, there are things that students can do to ensure that returning for Term 2 goes as smoothly as possible. Prioritise healthy habits to help get a good night’s sleep, remember to exercise (even when you’re not motivated) and practice self-care. There are lots of easy, cheap ways to chill out if you’re feeling stressed and need a break.

The Student Wellbeing team wishes all students, staff, and families a safe and relaxing holiday. Our team will also be taking a well-earned break over this time. If you require support during this time you can access these resources for wellbeing support during the school holidays. Please reach out to us before the end of term if you would like to discuss other support.

What: Expressions of Interest – I CAN Network – 2024 School Holiday Program

Cost: $388 We can issue Self Managed & Plan Managed (Not NDIA Managed) families with an invoice. Families can also privately pay for the program.

What: Butterly Prevention Programs: Raising Body Kind Teens – Parent Webinar

Cost: $15

When: Wednesday 20th March (today!)

Details: With a focus on preventing body dissatisfaction and serious eating issues, this new session from Butterfly provides practical strategies to help parents better understand and support positive body image in the home. It encourages all members of the family to be Body Kind; kind in the way they move, nourish, nurture and speak about their own body and others.

What: Multicultural mental health survey

Details: The National Multicultural Mental Health Survey help us better understand and address the mental health needs within multicultural communities. Your insights are invaluable in shaping policies, services and support systems that are inclusive and responsive to the challenges and experiences faced by individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Your input will directly contribute to improving mental health services and support for multicultural communities. By sharing your experiences, you help foster a more inclusive and understanding society. Your participation can lead to positive changes in mental health awareness, access and support for all.
