Oh! What a feeling

An Industry Immersion Tour at Toyota

Industry Tour at Toyota - South Morang

On Thursday 2nd November, students interested in the automotive industry were invited to attend an industry immersion tour at Toyota.

We saw shiny new cars on display as well as looking through the workshop out the back where different makes and models were being worked on and repaired.

George, the Leading Foreman showed our students around… we looked under bonnets and inside cars, cars up on hoists, passed around spare parts and explored a variety of different areas of the workshop.

He answered multiple questions from eager students, including questions about his own career which all started just as an interest as a young boy, who’s father and grandfather were mechanics.

A big thank you to George for giving us his valuable time and providing our students with this fantastic opportunity!

His passion hopefully sparked the interest of students to become Automotive Technicians, Engineers and Car Designers!

Thank you to Mr Tucker who supervised and drove the minibus.

Thank you to Christine and Kostas, Structured Workplace Learning Coordinators from the Hume Whittlesea Local Learning & Employment Network for facilitating this event with Toyota, South Morang!
