(❁´◡`❁)
This term has been packed with fun, creativity and plenty of exciting experiences! From crafting and games to outdoor adventures and special celebrations, there has never been a dull moment.
Although the weather didn't always cooperate, we made the most of every opportunity to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. On rainy days, our wet weather program helped us rediscover some classic favourites, with Connect Four and Spot It quickly becoming the most requested games.
One of the biggest highlights of the term was our Kindness Rocks Disco, held as part of our WeCare Project. The children danced, laughed and celebrated kindness together, making it a truly memorable event.
Throughout the term, the children explored a variety of themes including Earth Week, Dance and Disco Week, International Sports Week (celebrating the World Cup), and Kindness Week, where we launched our new Star of the Week initiative. It has been wonderful to see children recognising and celebrating the kind actions of their peers.
We also spent time learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures during National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week. The children showed great curiosity and respect as they explored stories, traditions and cultural practices. We were also excited to celebrate Auslan Day, where the children proudly shared their signing skills and even taught Lily how to sign the Welcome to Country!
Our creative side certainly shone this term. The beautiful lanterns created for the Belgrave Lantern Parade were a standout, and our Tuesday morning colouring competition continues to be a crowd favourite, with children eagerly casting their votes each week.
Afternoon tea has also been full of surprises, with children enjoying the chance to try some new foods. Butter chicken, Vegemite scrolls and mashed potatoes have been clear winners and are regularly requested by the children.
As we wrap up another fantastic term, we would like to thank all of our families for your ongoing support. We are incredibly proud of everything the children have achieved and cannot wait to see what adventures, learning and fun Term Three will bring!
WHAT'S NEXT FOR TERM THREE
Term Three is shaping up to be an exciting and engaging term, with National Science Week, Book Week and R U OK? Day all on the calendar. We look forward to celebrating these special events with the children and seeing the creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm they bring to each experience.
From Term Three, educators will no longer drop off or collect Foundation children from their classrooms. This change aims to support children's independence and confidence for when they reach Year One.
We will provide Foundation teachers with a daily list of children attending after-school care. However, we encourage families to begin discussing after-school care arrangements with their children each morning when dropping them off at school. This will help children become more aware of their daily routines and build confidence in managing transitions.
As always, we look forward to working in partnership with our families, school community and stakeholders to make Term Three our best term yet. We value your feedback and ideas, so please feel free to speak with our educators or leave a suggestion in our suggestion box. Together, we can continue to create a positive and engaging environment for all children.

Feedback and suggestions
In order to run an effective and personalised program, we rely on community involvement. The easiest way for us to ensure we are catering to the needs of your children and family is through suggestions and feedback. Please don't hesitate to speak to me directly or leave a note in our feedback box with any concerns or ideas for the service. We love hearing anything that can help us exceed.
Cancelation policy
We have recently experienced an increase in bookings that are not being cancelled when children are absent.
If your child will not be attending, it is very important that you cancel your booking as soon as possible. This can be done easily through the online booking system. Alternatively, you can send us a text message to notify us of your child’s absence.
Please note, if we are not informed of your child’s absence, we are required to follow our missing child procedure. This includes attempting to contact families and, if unsuccessful, may result in further action to ensure the child’s safety.
To avoid a cancellation fee, bookings must be cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the session.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep all children safe and our service running smoothly.
Sun Smart Policy
☀️🤠☀️
As part of our commitment to keeping all the children safe in the sun, we’d like to remind families about our TheirCare SunSmart Policy. With the warmer weather upon us, it’s essential that all children wear a broad-brimmed hat when playing outside.
To make sure every child is protected, we ask that children bring their own hat each day. If you’d prefer, you can leave a spare hat at TheirCare, clearly labeled with your child’s name, so it’s always ready for outdoor play. We do provide sunscreen but if your child has a sensitivity we do recommend bring their own.
Thank you for helping us keep all the children sun-safe! If you have any questions about our SunSmart policy, feel free to reach out.
In order to access the OSHC service, families must register prior to booking. During the registration process, you will be asked to provide details such as emergency contacts, medical requirements, dietary needs, etc.
While booking, please remember that last-minute booking can create a hard time for staffing. Please try to book 24 hours in advance, and if needed, call the service for last-minute bookings to ensure space is available.
Enrolment
If you have a child in Foundation or wish to start attending our fantastic program in 2025, you can register at TheirCare now. Booking is not available as of yet, but I will keep you updated. It is always best to book for OSCH as far in advance as possible, to ensure we have the proper staffing ratio needed for the safety of our service.
