TERM TWO IN FOUNDATION!
We cannot believe that Term Two has nearly come to an end! It is hard to believe that the students have completed the first half of Foundation. We have had such an exciting and busy term with activities including Crazy Hair and Sock Day, Walk to School Day and Auslan Day.
The students have learned lots of new letters, are writing using Victorian Cursive on dotted thirds, have been introduced to many new tricky words, used snakes to measure long and short, learnt about two dimensional shapes and added two numbers together to find the total. They completed a science experiment and had the Grade Three and Four students come and read them a story.
Enjoy all the photos of the students and their learning over Term Two!!
The Foundation students also participated in their very first incursion - Introductory Science Workshop!
100 DAYS OF SCHOOL!
We have been excitedly counting and recording the number of days we have been at school in our anticipation of our 100 Days of School Celebration! Each day we add a dot to our counting ten frame chart! We will be celebrating our 100 Days of School on Friday the 24th of July! Please see the attached notice with all the details.
SHOW AND TELL
As part of our Speaking and Listening program, Show and Tell will commence in week 2 and will run four days a week. This is a great opportunity for your child to become accustomed to speaking in front of an audience and we strongly encourage them to participate. We use the show and tell program to form part of our speaking and listening assessment. There will be specific topics for each week, as shown below. The day that your child will have show and tell is dependent on their house colour: Monday - Coolibah (blue), Tuesday - Mulga (green), Wednesday – Waratah (red) and Thursday - Wattle (yellow).
PARENTS - PLEASE NOTEFor our Inquiry Unit this term, we are learning all about Family History and our Show & Tell presentations reflect this. During the term, we will be sending home sheets that we would love for you to help your child complete so they can share them with the class. Thanks in advance!
Thank you all so much for your incredible support this term. We cannot believe how much the children have learnt throughout the semester! We hope you all have a fantastic break over the holidays and get a well deserved break.
