Winter Sleepout

Congratulations to all students and staff who braved the cold on Friday 21 August to join in the Nazareth College Winter Sleepout. The 40 students who attended engaged in each of the activities with enthusiasm and a real sense of purpose. 

We added a very practical activity to the program this year, which was to make up care packages in donated toilet bags. These were filled to the brim with much needed items including toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, sanitary items, deodorants etc. It was a real hive of activity as students not only filled their toilet bags but wrote a lovely note to the recipient. 

The highlight was delivering these care packages to an organisation called Pinchapoo in Bayswater who distribute them to women’s shelters and people in need. They were very grateful.

Throughout the sleepout, students also engaged in a range of activities including a short liturgy, trivia session (thanks Mr Berryman), games and roasting marshmallows.

The Vinnies would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated via the online link, as well as the $10 entry fee. 

👌We have exceeded our goal of $3000, with the final amount still to be determined.

Comfy Clothes Day

It was great to see many students embrace the Comfy Clothes fundraiser also held on Friday 21 August. This money will be donated to Beyond Blue for mental health. 

One of our VM students, Louis Anastasiadis also organised a sausage sizzle fundraiser to support this worthy organisation. His proceeds as well as student donations on the day meant that Nazareth raised over $2000 for Beyond Blue. 🏆A mighty effort.
