Keeping Our Community Healthy

We have recently seen an increase in respiratory and viral illnesses within our community, with more students attending school unwell and needing to go home during the school day. This is a timely reminder that we all have a role to play in reducing the spread of infection.

Simple measures can make a real difference, including:

  • Practising regular hand hygiene.
  • Covering coughs and sneezes with the crook of an elbow and wearing a mask when appropriate.
  • Avoiding close contact with others when unwell.
  • Collecting students promptly when they become unwell at school and keeping them home until they are well enough to return and participate in normal school activities.
  • If experiencing vomiting or diarrhoea, observing the recommended 48-hour exclusion period before returning to school.

🚨If your child develops symptoms such as a cough, sore throat, fever, runny nose or fatigue, please prioritise their health and keep them home while they are unwell or unable to participate in normal school activities.

Staying home gives the body time to rest and recover and helps reduce the risk of passing illness to others, particularly those who may be more vulnerable to complications within our community.

By taking these simple steps, we can all help minimise the spread of illness, support one another and keep our community as healthy as possible.
