Careers at Nazareth – Supporting Students on Their Pathway
The Careers Department has been very busy supporting our students as they explore and plan their pathways beyond school.
Our Year 12 Careers Interviews are well underway, with students meeting with the Careers Team to discuss their individual plans for 2027. Conversations have included university and TAFE courses, VTAC preferences, apprenticeships, traineeships, employment opportunities and alternative pathways. These individual meetings provide students with the opportunity to ask questions, explore their options and make informed decisions about their future.
We are also continuing to provide students and families with Skills and Job Search notifications, sharing current opportunities including apprenticeships, traineeships, employment vacancies, work experience and other career opportunities.
Our family meetings have also been an important part of the Careers program. Working alongside families allows us to provide personalised guidance and ensure students feel supported as they transition from school into further study, training or employment.
With VTAC applications now open, Year 12 students are encouraged to continue researching their options and developing their preferences. The timely VTAC application deadline is Monday 28 September 2026 at 5.00pm.
The Careers Team looks forward to continuing to support our students and families throughout this important and exciting time as they take their next steps beyond Nazareth.
Short Courses available Term 3 Holidays
Chisholm Institute and the Greater Dandenong Youth and Family Services have some amazing deals for students these September Holidays to complete a Short Course in Hospitality OR a White Card qualification. A White Card qualification is a mandatory qualification for anyone wanting to pursue a Trade and a must have in order to enter a work site.
Chisholm’s hospitality courses are also invaluable to a career in the Hospitality sector. Responsible Serving of Alcohol is a mandatory requirement for anyone wanting to work in the service of alcohol, hotel and or gaming venues.
