Library & Resource Centre Report

Maryanne Gustus

The Library is bursting with activity each recess and lunchtime. We have welcomed many Year 7 students as regulars.  They play chess, Uno, Chinese Checkers, read quietly upstairs and catch up on their academic work.  The following pictures will give you an idea of our wonderful space.

All of these pictures were taken on Monday March 17th when casual clothes were worn to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. A gold coin donation raised money for Caritas.

One of our Library regulars is Taylor Crane of Year 10.  Taylor is adept at many things, but today I wish to share with you her talent for drawing.

Her sketchbook is full of glorious, colourful pictures such as you can see below. What a star she is.

This week, Tuesday March 18th, was once again was our commitment at the Uniting Church. Our very special Mrs Lia Mailes accompanied six Year 9 students on the day.

A huge thankyou to Mrs Mary Golding and Mrs Mitchell in the Food Technology area for the meal preparation. Twenty delicious lunches were served on the day.  Heartfelt thanks to you all. Well done to everyone involved.

AMAZING Morning Tea

In what is becoming one of the FOOD highlights of the year, on Tuesday of this week our dedicated Arts Faculty provided a spectacular morning tea for all staff.

It is a team effort from the Visual Arts and Technology department and one must mention the standard of fare on offer as it was of the very highest quality.

Oh my goodness, the variety, the homemade goodness, the deliciousness.  Thank you to all involved, it was a beautiful treat for us all.

My final offering today is information regarding a new Library ‘display’. This is a collaboration between our marvellous Mrs Holly Herrmann and Teacher extroadinare Mr Dan Stevenson.

A real cold case murder mystery is displayed for anyone who wishes to attempt to solve the Murder. As you can see the display is quite compelling. All the evidence is there to solve the crime.

If and when the successful sleuths are known I shall include them in a future Newsletter. Thank you Mrs Herrmann and Mr Stevenson.
