Welcome to 2023, the year of the Rabbit! Hope you have had a great and restful holiday and are all fully charged and ready to start the brand new year! Well, I had a busy holiday and traveled to Perth to see one half of our family (my husband's side) for X'mas and finally to see my family in Japan for three weeks. I am originally from the northern part of Japan called Hokkaido. I have some pictures to show our students what I have been and done with my family. (The picture above is the mountain behind my parent's house where I used to go skiing, so I took my kids to experience it in winter) It is minus 10 there the last I spoke to my family.
My name is Kaori Bawden, students called me "Bawden Sensei or Sensei" in the class, I have been teaching since the beginning of last year at St. Joseph's Primary School. We had such busy but great Japanese lessons last year including Japanese Calligraphy, Ninja and Sumo Units, and a Cooking lesson at the end of last year. I would like to expand more writing and speaking this year with all levels by practising writing letters or postcards to Japan.
I am looking forward to seeing you all very soon.
Please contact me by email if you have any concerns or questions.
Target phrase for this month is これはなんですか。”Kore wa nan desuka"=What is this?
Students will use this phrase to ask me the questions for things I displayed in Japanese class. I am very excited to see you all next Tuesday.
