Anzac Day Service

Anzac Commemorations
On Friday, 24 April, the College conducted its Anzac Day service, which was held for the wider community in Oblate Hall. The service was led by our College Captains, supported by other members of the school community. It included a prayer and reflection from Father Michael Twigg OMI, as well as an address from Clubs WA President and Vietnam War veteran, Mr Geof Irvin, whose words provided valuable insight into the realities of service and sacrifice.
On Saturday, 25 April, Mazenod College was represented at the Kalamunda Dawn Service by School Captain Alex T, Head Boarder Ryan W and a number of boarding students. Alex and Ryan laid a wreath on behalf of the Mazenod community, honouring all Australian and New Zealand service personnel, past and present.
These commemorations provided an important opportunity for our community to pause and reflect on the values at the heart of Anzac Day - courage, mateship, endurance and sacrifice. Through prayer, reflection and representation at community ceremonies, we honoured the memory of those who have served and acknowledged the ongoing responsibility to uphold their legacy.
Lest we forget.
