2023 Alumni presents at Design Conference

On the 6th of December Michael Streader, University High school alumni 2023, was invited to present a keynote speech at the DATTA Vic conference, the professional association for teachers of Design & Technologies in Victoria. 

Michael, recipient of the Environmental Design Prize for Top Designs 2024 along with Ashleigh McGuire who won the Human-Centred Design Prize, and Christopher Batras, a VCE Systems Engineering student who won the Accessible Design Prize, talked about their incredible VCE projects. Michael presented very well and spoke about the process of designing and building an urban habitat for Pardalotes (small native bird) and micro bats (small native bats). He mentioned the importance of design to society and mentioned the encouragement and invaluable assistance that his teachers afforded him during his time at UHS. 

After the speeches the young designers fielded questions from the audience and all three left the audience feeling that the future is in good hands.
