Valedictory 2024
On 20th November, after the final VCE exams had been completed, the Class of 2024 and their family and friends came together to celebrate their Year 12 Graduation and to recognise the hard work and dedication of each and every member of the cohort. This year, for the first time, we were able to hold the event at the Moonee Valley Racecourse and it was amazing to see such a large number of people come together in celebration. It was incredibly rewarding to see all students in attendance walk across the stage and proudly collect their graduation certificate, including our first cohort of VCE-VM students.
We were treated to some thoughtful words from ABC journalist and former UHS student, Luke Dundon, who delivered an authentic and engaging speech, drawing particular attention to the value of the diversity he experienced at UHS. He encouraged students to value and remember their UHS experiences and their learning as they moved through the next steps of their futures.
Many subject awards were presented during the evening, as well as a number of very special awards that aligned with our school’s values, and we also heard from the 2024 Valedictorians - Piyush Pemmaraju and Miranda Zabel. It was heart-warming to see so many students receive individual awards but it was equally heart-warming to see a number of students be rewarded on a number of fronts!
Congratulations to the Class of 2024 - we can’t wait to hear what you get up to next!
