Wellbeing Programs In Term 4
Creative Club
Students have been unleashing their creativity with a lunchtime activity each week facilitated by the school counselling team. Creative Club has become a favorite space for a group of students to make new friendships, explore their imaginations, learn new skills, and express themselves in unique ways.
Creative Club is open to all year levels. During lunch students can try their hand at activities like painting, sketching, working with clay and making jewellery. Whether they are experienced artists or simply looking for a fun way to relax and explore their creative side, there's something for everyone.
We’ve loved seeing the wonderful creations of our students over the term and wanted to share some with you (unfortunately we can’t credit the artists as we forgot to write down who did what - sorry!)
Canine Comprehension Dogs in Schools Program
Each term a therapy dog and mentor have attended University High weekly to work with small groups of students. With the aid of a gorgeous canine, students have been learning how to stay present, reduce stress, and manage emotions. The unique structure of the Canine Comprehension dog therapy program has helped students to cultivate friendships, develop essential social skills and assist with teaching tricks to a therapy dog. Here is our Term 4 Canine Comprehension group working with their favourite furry friend, Ollie.
