Attendance Matters
Regular school attendance plays an important role in every child's learning, growth and wellbeing. Every day at school is an opportunity to learn something new, build friendships and feel connected to our school community here at Skye. We understand that illness and unforeseen circumstances can sometimes affect attendance, but we encourage all families to make regular attendance a priority wherever possible. Arriving on time and being at school every day helps students build positive routines, confidence and a strong foundation for success. Remember, every day counts!
As I mentioned last week in Assembly, over each of the Fridays until the end of term, I have introduced 'FriYAY Fun Day'. The students in each year level have voted on something special to happen each Friday, encouraging students to be at school.
Today marked our first day, which was chosen by our FABULOUS Grade Two cohort!! And it was 'Tabletop Teddies'. Thank you to all of the students who brought in a teddy to sit on their table for the day. It was incredible to see!! Even some Grade 6 students got invovled (some, not all!)
Thank you Grade Two students and teachrs for coming up with such a great idea to start us off. Here are some photos featuring students from 2A, 2B, 2C and 2D with their teddies!

Next week we will have another 'FriYAY Fun Day' special, which was chosen from our Grade 1s. And it is....

I am looking forward to seeing some of our Grade 1 students in their crazy socks, along with the rest of the school.
Also, as mentioned at assembly. On some of the Fridays leading up to the end of term, there will also be additional surprises for students. However, I cannot give too much away. Students will just have to be here to find out.
But... I will give a clue for the upcoming one, "Listen carefully, watch closely and cross your fingers. You never know when your lucky moment might come!"
