Wear It Purple Day
It was another successful Rainbow Club event on Thursday 3 September!
The Rainbow Club was delighted by the incredible number of cakes, cookies, brownies and other delicious baked goods that were donated.
We are still counting the donations and will announce the total amount raised to support Minus18 at the next assembly.
The Rainbow Club will continue to run on Tuesdays as part of the Wellbeing Club. They are already planning more events for Term 4 to promote inclusion, wellbeing, safety and respect. Everyone is welcome!
A big thank you to our Student Wellbeing Ambassadors, Charlotte, Xavier and Persephone, and our Rainbow Club members, Amaliyah, Mia, Coco, Ivy M, Lila, Hugo P, Ramla and Anaii, for all their hard work organising the event.
And finally, a huge shout-out to our fantastic TPS community for supporting this event and proudly standing alongside our LGBTQI+ students and families.
Supporting Healthy Masculinity and Respectful Relationships
In Term 4, TPS staff will be participating in the Modelling Respect and Equality (MoRE) professional development program. This training focuses on supporting schools to promote healthier masculinities and foster a more respectful and inclusive school culture.
Another program that strongly aligns with this work is Man Cave, Australia’s leading preventative mental health charity for boys and young men.
On 23 September, Ben Vasiliou from Man Cave will join Maggie Dent for a live online masterclass exploring an important question: What do today’s boys really need from us?
Together, they will explore how we can move beyond narrow ideas of boyhood and support boys to grow into healthy, happy, respectful, accountable, wholehearted and connected men.
Maggie Dent is one of Australia’s most trusted voices on boys, parenting and resilience. She has spent decades supporting parents and educators to navigate the challenges of raising and supporting children in today’s world.
This promises to be an honest, thoughtful and valuable conversation for parents, educators and anyone who works with or cares about boys.
