Meet our Global Team: Shaping Our World at Wheelers Hill Secondary College 

Greetings to the Wheelers Hill Secondary College Community, 

I am Samantha Loh, The Global Team leader, and I'm thrilled to introduce you to our vibrant Global Team, where we are united in our mission to foster a community that celebrates diversity, champions inclusivity, and nurtures the environment. 

Our purpose is clear: to create futures together by promoting intercultural understanding, inclusivity, environmental responsibility, and community awareness. This year, we are excited to embark on ambitious goals that promise to enrich our school's tapestry with the vibrant colours of global cultures and values. 

Goal 1: Intercultural Understanding We envision a school where every culture is celebrated and understood. To bring this vision to life, we will be hosting four cultural events throughout the year, spotlighting Indigenous, Asian, African, and European heritage. These events are not just celebrations but a canvas for education, understanding, and appreciation. In addition, we plan to enrich students’ intercultural understanding by indulging in international films and music.  

Goal 2: Inclusivity Everyone deserves to feel safe and included. We aim to create a more welcoming environment for gender, cultural, and LGBTQ+ diversity. 

Goal 3: Environment Our schoolyard is our home, and we must treat it with respect. Our litter reduction campaign targets a 50% decrease in litter through increased bin access, clean-up days, and environmental education. We are committed to leaving a green footprint for future generations. 

Goal 4: Community Awareness We aim to raise funds and awareness for causes close to our hearts. By November, we plan to have raised over $500 at each of two fundraising events for selected charities, fostering a spirit of generosity and community engagement. 

Our team consists of global ambassadors committed to making a difference. We will keep you updated on our progress and invite you to join us in our journey to make Wheelers Hill Secondary College a beacon of global citizenship and environmental sustainability.
