Principal's Message

Dear Parents and carers,

It is wonderful to be back at school after my leave and to see our students, staff and families again. I had a fantastic break and a very special experience watching my child participate in the Commonwealth Games. It was certainly a memorable time for our family and a wonderful opportunity to share in such an exciting event.

I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank my wonderful staff who stepped up during my absence. In particular, thank you to Vira, Annette and Mick for their leadership, care and commitment in supporting the school and ensuring everything continued to run so smoothly. I am incredibly grateful for the way everyone worked together and supported one another.

It is lovely to be back, and I look forward to a wonderful rest of the term ahead with our St Fidelis community.

Emmaus Parish Inauguration Celebrations

We look forward to gathering as one parish community for the Emmaus Parish Inauguration Mass and Celebrations this coming Friday, 14 August, at 7:00pm at St Fidelis Church. A buffet supper in the St Fidelis School Hall will follow the Mass.

Parking will be available in the church car park at 49 Clarendon Street and on the St Fidelis School grounds (entry via 28 Hawthorn Street). Volunteers will be available throughout the evening to assist with parking and directions.

If you were unable to register, you are still most welcome to attend. We look

forward to celebrating with you. Join the Emmaus Inauguration Mass Choir.

Rehearsals:

• 12 August, 7:15 pm – St Fidelis Church

• 14 August, 6:00 pm – St Fidelis Church

On Monday 24 August, the staff of St Fidelis will participate in a day of professional and spiritual learning at the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre. Throughout the day, staff will explore the life and mission of Saint Mary MacKillop, learning about her deep faith, courage, compassion, and commitment to education and service. We will reflect on the ways in which Mary’s work has enriched our lives and continues to influence Catholic education and the communities we serve today. This experience will provide an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and renewal as we consider how Mary MacKillop’s example inspires us in our own vocation as educators and members of the St Fidelis community. 

MACSEYE will be available for all day care if you would like to register. 

Our Principal for the Day Fundraiser Winners!

What an exciting Friday we had at our Assembly as we drew the winners of our Principal for the Day fundraiser! There was an incredible response to this fundraiser, with an amazing number of tickets sold.  

Our very lucky winners will soon have the opportunity to step into the shoes of some of our amazing staff members for the day. They will experience what it is like to be a Principal, PE Teacher, Art Teacher or STEM Teacher, with plenty of exciting responsibilities along the way!

Our winners will have the chance to:

• Make announcements to the school
• Run fun activities
• Help with yard duty
• Share their ideas and make a difference
• Meet with our GEM Leaders to discuss ways we can continue to improve our school
• Enjoy a very special celebratory lunch at the end of the week!
