The "Grate" Muffin Mission

Last weeks recipes were inspired by Book Week stories as we embarked on a The Grate Muffin Mission to create to two delicous muffins flavours in the kitchen. A savoury one with carrot, cheese and parsley, served with a garlic and herb butter, and a sweet one, banana, spinach and chocolate. Thank you to Leandro for bringing some lemons from your Grandads tree to make out buttermilk and to Shaun for the banana donation.

The kitchen was a buzz of activity with careful recipe reading, precise measuring, herb chopping, egg cracking, banana and avocado mashing, batter scopping

While we waited for out muffins to cook, we designed book covers inspired by our ingredients and recipes

Some titles included......

Carrot vs Muffin

Muffin Mania and Mr Muffin

Crazy Cranky Carrots

Character Carrots vs the Evil Muffins

The Happy Muffins called Daisy

Our Day in the Kitchen  by Egsheglen

"3B had fun making healthy muffins/cupcakes. There were two types of muffins. While splits from 3E, crafted, read and made seed packets. We learnt how to precisely measure flour and how to read recipes. We also learned how to make buttermilk"

Thank you to all our parent and carer volunteers who have helped out in the kitchen this term, we really appreciate your support.
