Molesworth Street Kindergarten

Book an Adventure with our Four-Year-Old Kookaburra Group!

Our Book Week celebrations continue to be highlighted by our fortnightly School Library Visits and our weekly Book Show and Tell where children choose a favourite book from home to share and read with their friends at Kindergarten. Some of the questions they get to answer after Book Show and Tell were:

"What's your favourite part of the story?"
"Who is your favourite character?"
"What made you choose this book?"

The children also engaged in a range of learning experiences that supported letter and number recognition through themed games and puzzles inspired by the books we're reading in Kinder.

An example of this experience would be the bringing to life of the story, Wombat Stew by creating our very own version of the stew outdoors under the beautiful sunshine last week on Level 5. It turned out to be an experience that combined storytelling, sensory play, and imaginative learning.

We are also grateful that our Rosella and Cockatoo groups have had the opportunity to take part in the school’s Book Week Parade for the second year in a row. The children felt very proud of themselves, and supported by their older siblings who were also part of the parade. Everyone felt encouraged by their families who cheered and came along to see them. This event was indeed a memorable one for the Kindergarten children as it helps them feel more connected to the wider school community, while also serving as a beautiful reminder of shared celebration, inclusion, and imagination.
