Students have been enjoying books from Skye Little Library, during recess and lunch outside the STEAM room.
Thank you for your continued support of Book Club! Orders were sent out on Thursday, 15 May, and the remaining few were sent home today.
Every purchase earns valuable rewards that help us add new books to our wonderful school library.
If you're purchasing an item as a gift, simply mark the order as a gift when placing it. For any orders marked as gifts, I’ll be in touch to arrange a convenient pick-up time.
We are excited to once again participate in this year’s National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS)!
Last year, more than 2.3 million participants joined in across nearly 22,000 locations nationwide.
What is National Simultaneous Storytime? NSS is an annual event organised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Each year, a picture book by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously in schools, libraries, childcare centres, family daycares, bookshops, and homes across the country. Now in its 24th successful year, NSS is a vibrant celebration of reading and literacy that promotes a love of books through a shared reading experience.
The chosen book supports age-appropriate themes and connects to key learning areas of the Australian Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.
The Truck Catis a heartwarming story about cats and humans, immigration and identity, and homes lost and found. Tinka, the cat, and his human, Yacoub, travel far and wide. But home always seems just out of reach—until an unexpected separation leads to a journey of determination, reunion, and the discovery of something even greater.
We can’t wait to share this beautiful story with our students and celebrate the joy of reading together!
Happy Reading!
Tarnia.
