FAB FABRICS: SAVERS RUN || Yesterday, our Year 9 & 10 Fab Fabrics students sourced pre-loved garments and will now generate multiple design solutions to upcycle, repurpose and refine into creations of their own. This is Product Design and Technology in action – innovators of the future working on real-life problems with a focus on sustainable and ethical design. From sketches → iterations → prototypes, they’ll explore how small changes can turn waste into “wow”.

YEAR 7 2026 || Thank you to all our 2026 Year 7 families who joined us for last night’s information evening! Special shout-out to our current students for their presentations and musical performances, and to our wonderful Parents' Association for their support. We can’t wait for Orientation Day and the adventures ahead!

FAREWELL CLASS OF 2025 || Today we wrapped up our onsite celebrations with a farewell breakfast, whole-school assembly and the signing of uniforms. In keeping with tradition, our Year 7s formed a guard of honour as our Year 12s left the assembly for the final time. A huge congratulations to Beckett House, who were announced as this year’s House Trophy winners! We’ll miss you, Class of 2025, and can’t wait to see you shine at tonight’s Graduation Dinner at the MCG—then it’s on to exams!

A HEARTFELT FAREWELL || Year 12 graduate Casey delivered a moving performance of “Slipping Through My Fingers” at our whole-school assembly on Friday. With heartfelt lyrics and a beautiful voice, she captured the emotion of saying goodbye to the school that has shaped so many memories. It was a touching moment that perfectly summed up the spirit of the Class of 2025 — gratitude, reflection and the bonds that will last long after graduation.

CELEBRATING OUR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS || Congratulations to Emerson, Emily, Olympia, Santiago, Lily, Kiara and Indianna, each of whom was awarded a scholarship on Graduation Night to assist in pursuing their chosen pathways. Following a formal application process, these outstanding students were selected for their dedication, effort and commitment to their studies — with some recognised for their exceptional sporting achievements.
The scholarships were made possible through the generous support of the Beaumaris Secondary College Foundation, established by local community member and great friend and supporter of the College, Bridget Hsu-Hage. We’re confident these scholarships will be put to great use!

WILDLIFE UP CLOSE || On Friday, our Year 9 & 10 Be A Vet students were joined by some very special guests — a range of live native animals! Students explored the structure and function of their body systems, comparing digestive, cardiovascular, nervous, reproductive and respiratory systems to discover how these animals survive and thrive in the wild.

SPORTS ENHANCEMENT: RECOVERY IN ACTION || On Friday, our Year 9 Sports Enhancement students visited P3 Recovery Bayside to learn about hydrotherapy and contrast therapy—two key recovery methods used by athletes to reduce muscle soreness and improve performance. Students had the chance to experience these recovery techniques firsthand and explore how they support the body after exercise. A great mix of fun, learning and practical application!

BSC LADIES’ LUNCH A HUGE SUCCESS! || What a fantastic afternoon! The 2025 Ladies’ Lunch was filled with great company, beautiful acoustic music from local mum Beth and her musical partner Mark, a buzzing photo wall, perfect weather and plenty of laughs.
Parents were also able to farewell and celebrate some of our Year 12 mums and hear from a guest speaker raising awareness for Be Breast Aware Month this October.
Thanks to the incredible support of local businesses, around $14,500 in donations was gathered for raffle prizes, lucky door prizes and silent auction items — an amazing result!
A huge thank you to our wonderful Parents’ Association for organising such a fantastic event and to everyone who came along for a fabulous day celebrating our community.

TAFE TASTER – PLASTERING || Last week our Year 10 students got hands-on with plastering as part of their Construction Pathways program! This Department of Education initiative gives students the chance to explore VET subjects, gain real trade experience and build practical skills for their future pathways.

YEAR 7 CULTURAL DAY || Our Year 7 students enjoyed celebrating Cultural Day—immersing themselves in the languages and traditions of French, Japanese and other cultures from around the world. Students took part in engaging incursions including African drumming, French cooking, Japanese Taiko drumming and calligraphy. With delicious crepes from Crêpes for Change and sushi for lunch, it was a meaningful day celebrating diversity and intercultural awareness, while supporting youth homelessness.

RISING STAR & STRIVE AWARDS || Today we celebrated our amazing students recognised for their outstanding learning behaviours and growth at our whole-school Approach to Learning Assembly! Strive Awards honour the top 5% of students for their learning behaviours, while Rising Star Awards recognise those who have shown significant improvement across multiple subjects. It was wonderful to welcome parents and carers for the occasion, and a big thank you to our talented student musicians for their outstanding performances. Congratulations to all our award recipients on this well-deserved recognition!

YEAR 9 & 10 DRAMA ON STAGE || Our Year 9 & 10 Drama students took to the professional stage today as part of the Malthouse Theatre’s Suitcase Series! After weeks of devising their own performance inspired by Who No Kno Go Kno, they performed alongside other schools, shared feedback and enjoyed the live Malthouse production.
