Hari Indonesia / Indonesian Day
‘Hari Indonesia’ (Indonesian Day) is just around the corner! All students from Prep to Year 6 will be given this exciting opportunity to further explore Indonesian culture as part of our Indonesian language and cultural program. This year, we will celebrate Hari Indonesia on Friday 21 August.
Students will participate in a range of activities during a full day program. There will be a performance workshop with Suara Indonesia dance company where they will introduce Indonesia through music, dance and theatre traditions from across the archipelago. All students will also participate in the traditional Independence Day games with their classroom teacher to enhance their cultural understanding of Indonesia.
Some key points for parents and carers:
- Students are asked to wear red, white or Indonesian traditional clothing (Batik) to school.
- A variety of Indonesian snacks will be provided to each classroom for the students to try at recess (please discuss with the classroom teacher or Bu Gladys regarding any allergy concerns).
- A special Hari Indonesia Assembly will be held in the school Stadium at 2:30pm. Parents and carers are encouraged to attend. There will be a special performance by selected students.
The event notice has been published in Compass. Consent and payment are due now and not later than Thursday 20 August.
Thank you for your continued support towards the running of this wonderful cultural immersion!
Terima Kasih
