3xCup Basketball State Final Presentation
This was the first year Essex Heights has entered teams into the 3xCup competition. We are very proud of both teams for their efforts.
The boys’ team consisting of Travis, Will and Cooper qualified for State Finals. They won their pool matches to advance to the knockout games, winning their round of sixteen match 21-15. The quarter final was a tough match and unfortunately, they lost, placing them eighth overall.
At a recent assembly, the boys were presented with a photo frame to acknowledge their amazing achievements which will hang on the Stadium foyer wall, along with our other state finalists in various sports.
Congratulations!
Division Netball Final
Nine students qualified to compete at the Monash Waverley Division Netball Finals on Wednesday 22 July at the Waverley Netball Centre in Glen Waverley.
Last Wednesday the Netball A girls competed in the Monash Waverley Division Netball tournament at Waverley Netball centre. We played five 24-minute matches and made it to the semi -finals, unfortunately we lost but it was the best our team ever played. It was a tough competition, and we all tried our best, worked as a team and learnt new things.
We'd like to thank Miss Kemp for coaching us and giving us helpful advice throughout the day. Also, thanks to our parents for driving us and thanks to Elissa and Christine for scoring.
Overall, it was really fun to spend the day with our friends, playing netball representing our school.

Division Teeball Finals
11 Year 6 students qualified to compete in the Monash Waverley Division Teeball Finals on Thursday 30 July at Waverley Softball Centre in Glen Waverley.
I am the vice-captain for the Tee-Ball boys’ team. On the 30th of July, the Tee-Ball boys’ team participated in the Tee-Ball division at Waverley Softball Centre. There were three other teams in our pool that we competed against. They were Mt Waverley North, St Justin’s and Pinewood. Sadly, we lost 2 of our matches against Mt Waverley North and St Justin’s, knocking us out of the finals games and placing us in fourth. As they say, you win some and you lose some, but it was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I would like to thank my parents for driving me to and from the centre and Ms Hocking for being there on a rainy and cold day with us, encouraging and cheering us all the way. I would also like to congratulate the other boys in our team for doing so well and working as a true team.
Trien – Year 6
I am the captain of the boys’ tee-ball team. We played a total of 5 district matches against Mt Waverley, Wheelers Hill, Mt Scopus, Burwood East and Jells Park. Although we lost our first match against Mt Waverley Primary, we went on to win all our remaining matches, placing us second overall and letting us through to division. I am really proud of what we achieved because my friends and I worked together as a team and supported each other during the matches. After all this time I’d like to thank Mr Russell and Ms Hocking for teaching and inspiring all of us to play our best and to finally show our full potential during our matches!
