Year Six

As we begin our final term of Year 6, students are embracing an exciting period of learning, reflection and celebration, building on their achievements throughout the year while preparing for the memorable milestones that mark the end of their primary school journey.

Writing

In Writing, students have applied their research skills to plan, draft and publish informative biographies about famous innovators. They focused on organising information chronologically, incorporating relevant facts and using appropriate language and text features to engage their audience. Throughout the writing process, students refined their work through editing and revising to ensure the

ir biographies are informative, engaging and professionally presented.

Reading

In Reading, our Year 6 students have been investigating the lives and achievements of famous innovators who have made significant contributions to our world. Through exploring a variety of biographies, students have identified key information, analysed text features and developed their research skills. Students have also considered how the achievements of these individuals have influenced society and how their legacy has shaped the world we live in today.

Mathematics

In Mathematics, our Year 6 students have been exploring chance and probability through a range of practical experiments and investigations. Students predict possible outcomes, conducting repeated trials and systematically recording their results to identify patterns and trends. They developed their mathematical reasoning by analysing experimental results, comparing these with expected probabilities and explaining their thinking using appropriate mathematical language.

Melbourne Museum Excursion

Our Year 6 students recently enjoyed an exciting excursion to Melbourne Museum as part of their preparations for our upcoming Exhibition. Throughout the visit, students explored a variety of exhibits, investigating how museums use interactive displays, visual features and engaging information to capture the interest of different audiences. Students were encouraged to consider what makes an exhibit informative, accessible and memorable, gathering valuable ideas and inspiration to apply when designing and presenting their own Exhibition displays.
