A Christmas Dressup Day for Cebu

You may have heard it in the news, parts of the Philippines have been struck by earthquake on September 30. 

The other day, many of the places still bracing the aftermath of the earthquake were hit by a strong typhoon, causing loss of hundreds of lives, washing many houses away, inundating many cities, towns and villages.

Luckily Fr Junjun's family are safe however many people he knows

and personal friends have suffered the loss of houses, houses being flooded causing most if not all of their belongings destroyed, washed away, or unusable.

There is still no power in many places, and the network reception is very limited.

After discussions with the yr 6 Justice team, we have decided to raise money for the people of Cebu in conjunction with the Rosie Cullen Foundation and Fr Junjun.

On Tuesday Dec 2nd we encourage all students to dress in a Christmas theme.  This can be anything from a red ribbon, green t-shirt, to a Christmas shirt to an elf costume. We will also be launching Advent during Christian meditation that morning so children can also wear purple. As part of wearing a Christmas outfit on this day we ask for a gold coin donation. 

All money raised will go directly to those in need to buy bottled water, clothing, food and the necessities. We know that this time of year there are many demands on family finances, so we ask that you give what works each family.
