F–2 Chemical Science: Frog in a Pond
This week, our budding scientists had a delicious way to explore Chemical Science! We investigated how different elements can be combined to create a tasty treat — a chocolate frog in a jelly pond.
Students discovered:
- Jelly is a colloid — a mixture where tiny particles are evenly spread throughout a liquid.
- We used heat to dissolve jelly crystals in water, creating a new product: jelly.
- We drew and labeled simple diagrams to show the steps and changes involved.
The best part? We enjoyed eating our very own Frog in a Pond while learning about how materials change when combined.
Stay happy,
Mel
