Foundation

The Foundation students have been focusing on Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS), particularly throwing, catching and kicking. These skills were taught through fun games and play-based learning. Students built confidence in a supportive environment and also took part in simple games that encourage teamwork, turn-taking and active participation. 

Years 1 and 2

The Year 1 and 2 students enjoyed a range of active games and team activities. They practised working together, taking turns and showing positive teamwork skills. Students were introduced to team sports such as basketball and soccer, where they learned basic rules, positions and the importance of working as a team. Through fun games and guided play, students also developed their Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) and built confidence in a supportive environment.

Years 3 and 4

The Year 3 and Year 4 students have been working on their teamwork and cooperation skills. 

Students were introduced to modified versions of basketball and soccer. These games supported the development of game awareness, ball handling, passing and movement into space. 

Years 5 and 6

Year 5 and 6 students have been focusing on teamwork, participation and good sportsmanship. In soccer, students applied offensive and defensive strategies in team scenarios with a focus to improve both their individual ball control and their ability to work collaboratively on the field. 

Rugby was introduced to students with a focus on the backwards pass, ability to play the ball and the rules of the game. Students explored how high levels of engagement and maturity are essential while learning the rules and safety elements of the sport. In Australian Rules Football, the emphasis was on strategic play, effective teamwork and positional roles on the field.
