Preschool Learning Highlights

As part of the preschool’s Child Protection Curriculum learning, we have been reading The Colour Monster. This story explores feelings through colour, following a monster whose emotions are all mixed up until his friend helps him sort and understand them.

After reading the story, the children were invited to create their own drawings using colours from the book to show how they were feeling.

Each child engaged with the learning in their own way. Some drew pictures of themselves, while others created their own monsters. The children were thoughtful and deliberate in the colours they chose to include, and in those they chose to leave out. We look forward to continuing this learning next term as we build the children’s understanding of feelings and emotions.
