Thank you BSCCC for our AFL and Soccer Goals!

An enormous thank you to the Brighton Secondary College Community Connect and our school community for your fantastic fundraising efforts through the BSCCC Secondhand Uniform Sales.

Our major fundraising goal for the latter part of 2025 and 2026 was to bring AFL goals to BSC – and we have done it! And not only have we brought AFL to our oval, we have also added another set of 5-metre soccer goals!

A magnificent set of new AFL goals and ball nets, together with the new soccer goals, was installed just over a week ago. Students have already been thoroughly enjoying these fantastic additions to our sporting facilities.

The new goals provide even more opportunities for students to participate in AFL and soccer training and activities and will further enhance initiatives such as our AFL Academy, which ran during Term 2. They also increase the potential for our oval to be used by the broader community. We recently hosted a girls' AFL holiday program run by the AFL through the SMJFL, making great use of our upgraded facilities.

This project is not only a wonderful addition for our students; it also creates opportunities for better utilisation and hire of our facilities, strengthens BSC's connections with the broader community, raises the profile of our school and provides opportunities to generate additional revenue that can be reinvested back into our students and facilities.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, purchased or volunteered through our Secondhand Uniform Sales. Your support has directly helped make this project happen!

What should the BSCCC tackle next?

The BSCCC Annual General Meeting will be held next Wednesday 2 September at 6.30pm in the school staffroom.

All parents and carers are warmly encouraged to attend. An exciting item on the agenda will be brainstorming ideas for the BSCCC's next community project.

We would love to see you there and hear your ideas about what we can achieve together next!
