Commemoration ceremony for the Vietnam War 

On Tuesday the 18th of August, both Year 11 History classes travelled together with their teachers, to attend a commemoration ceremony for the Vietnam War, at Melbourne’s Shrine.  

The students gathered with Vietnam veterans and others, to remember the Battle of Long Tan.  This battle resulted in the death of 18 Australian soldiers, 60 years ago. Two students, Lily Trezise and Zoe Anzman, laid a wreath on behalf of Brighton Secondary College, at the base of the eternal flame, to remember all those who fought.  

The students were then able to participate in a highly valuable question and answer session afterwards with some Vietnam Veterans, which was a highlight of their excursion.
