Excursion to the Hellenic and Immigration Museums

On July 30, Mr Pantazis and I took the Yr 10 and 12 EAL students to the Hellenic Museum and the Immigration Museum.
The Year 12s did a session on ‘Oedipus the King’ to support their understanding of the Ancient Greek play as they prepare to write an essay on it. I would highly recommend a visit to this museum; it is the first time I’ve been and it is fascinating if you are interested in Ancient Greek history, literature, myths and legends. Students were lucky enough to handle artifacts over 2000 years old!
We visited the Immigration Museum to support the Year 10 EAL unit on writing memoirs, exploring the history of immigration in Melbourne and engaging with the interactive resources.
The students were engaged and wonderful to take out for a day in the city.
Ms. Boyd.
