Petition for a new fire truck for Montrose CFA
Some of our Year 9 students have started a petition to lobby for a new fire truck for the Montrose CFA. Below is their rationale and what they are hoping to achieve.
- We started a petition to raise awareness for the Montrose CFA and get a new fire truck through (hopefully) the state government since the current one is over 35 years old and in desperate need of replacement.
- We are trying to get more signatures to make our petition more impactful and meaningful when we send it through to the state government.
- We have a few reasons why acquiring this truck is important:
- The old truck they have impedes their effectiveness and efficiency in the field when they are called to action.
- An old truck puts the firefighters at risk because the safety measures are becoming obsolete.
- The firefighters protect our homes and they need to be able to do this properly.
