Junior Primary

Maroondah Dam Excursion

What's outside my window?

This term in Junior Primary we have been Awe Dwellers by looking at the topic 'What's Outside My Window?' We have looked at God's world through the lense of natural, managed and constructed features that are around us in our community and wider world. We celebrated our learning by going to Maroondah Dam to look at the different features and spend a fun day together. We even got to hear a live silly story from Sam himself! Below are highlights from some of the JP students.

My favourite activity at Maroondah Dam was throwing the ball off the dam because I liked the other class trying to catch it! - Joseph JPB

I enjoyed throwing leaves all over Mr Chamberlain, it was fun! - Xavier JPB

I got scared when 80 JP students threw leaves all over me!! - Mr Chamberlain

I liked climbing to the top of the dam. There was a lot more water than I expected. - James JPE

Boat making! When we did that, unfortunately, I had a lot of fails, but that's okay. The boat of mine that succeeded was made of bark. - Chloe JPE

One of my favourite activities was cubby building because it was unexpected for me to find a lot of tree branches. - Toby JPE

At Maroondah Dam we threw a ball off the wall to another class. It bounced and zoomed down to the bottom. I loved racing boats and cubby building. - Lennox JPK

I enjoyed exploring, looking for nature and boat racing. I loved watching the boats zig zag down the currents. - Myla JPK

I loved rolling down the hill. There were so many leaves. I felt so happy. - Van JPK

I did a scavenger hunt with Mrs Griffiths. I loved it. - Ayra JPW

We built boats and raced them, it was really cool. I love it! - Will JPW
