Music

Kii TPS community!
In grade 3-6 Music we have been playing games and chanting rhymes to explore the difference between Beat and Rhythm.
Anna Banana plays the piana
All she can play is The Star Spangled Banner
Anna Banana split!
Double double this this
Double double that that
Double this, double that
Double double this that
I know a washer woman, she knows me.
She invited me to tea.
Guess what we had for supper?
Slippery soap with butter.
We have been feeling the beat in our bodies, keeping time with the beat and looking at how many beats a note goes for. We have been putting the rhythm of words into clapping patterns.
We have also begun to explore Form through song and accompaniment. The two songs students have really enjoyed singing are below. Sing together at home if you have a chance!
Feel Like Going Back Home by The Pigram Brothers
Verse 1
I feel like going back home
Right now while the mangoes are ripe
Frangipani's starting to bloom
And the blue bone are starting to bite
Chorus
Hey mum I can just taste your fish soup and rice
I'm coming back home to you
Can't hack the pace of the city life
Soon I'll be dreaming in Broome
Verse 2
Driving up the dusty red highway
I got this freedom flowing wind in my hair
Soaking up the wild desert country
All my worries are gone I don't care
Chorus
Hey mum I can just taste your fish soup and rice
I'm coming back home to you
Can't hack the pace of the city life
Soon I'll be dreaming in Broome
Bridge
Lazy breeze flowing through your mind
Sky blue seas catch a feed there anytime
Verse 3
I feel like going back home
Right now while the mango's are ripe
Frangipani's starting to bloom
And the blue bone are starting to bite
Chorus
Hey mum I can just taste your fish soup and rice
I'm coming back home to you
Can't hack the pace of the city life
Soon I'll be dreaming in Broome
Soon I'll be dreaming in Broome
Soon I'll be dreaming in Broome
Count On Me by The Bruno Mars
Verse 1
If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see
I'll be the light to guide you
We'll find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
Chorus
You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it, I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh, yeah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah
Verse 2
If you tossin' and you're turnin' and you just can't fall asleep
I'll sing a song beside you
And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me
Every day I will remind you, oh
We'll find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
Chorus
You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it, I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh, yeah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah
Bridge
You'll always have my shoulder when you cry
I'll never let go, never say goodbye
You know...
Chorus
You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh, yeah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh
You can count on me 'cause I can count on you
