Gardening

This  month in gardening we have been soaking up the late summer months harvest..

Children have explored our garden areas, tasting delicious beans, tomatoes, figs, and cucumbers. We have begun planting out autumn vegetables and flowers to attract pollinators into our garden. We are learning about the important role that minibeasts play in helping our garden to grow. We found out that the yellow ladybugs on our zucchini plants are feasting on powdery mildew!

Students in prep and 1S created nature journals using sticks to hold them together. We have packaged up some seeds saved from our garden to send to schools in Northern New South Wales that have been affected by the floods. Henry and friends engineered a super sonic watering and hand washing system!

This week the year 1 2 students helped to make fresh passata ready to share at the harvest festival produce swap on Thursday April 7th.
