Year 3/4–Celebrating Learning

3/4 - Mainstream

In 3/4 A and B students have been learning about the figurative language of personification. Below are some of the deadly sentence’s students have created.

“The wind kicked the leaves around the old oak tree.” By Willa Wren Nolan Myers
“The bushfire eats everything in its’ path” By Ethan Goodman
“The moon stared at the boy” Yossi Crafti
“The tree cried its’ last leaves off” Scarlett Murray-Rossell

For Integrated, students have been learning about ‘Belonging’. As a result, they decided to brainstorm questions that they could ask Prep students at TPS to find out whether or not the Prep students feel they belong here at Thornbury Primary. The students came up with the survey questions (see picture attached) and spoke with the Prep students to find their answers.

Students have also been illustrating their narratives.

3 - Steiner

The children of 3S have been busy preparing for their performance of their annual play, The Twelve Sons of Jacob Israel. They have been learned about projecting their voices, facing the audience and developing their characters. Fun and giggles have occurred and they look forward to the dress rehearsals and closing night performance in week 9.
