Our Year 12 Formal on Thursday 18 June brought the night we had all been waiting for. It was held at Karralyka Centre and was filled with so much fun, laughter and amazing memories. From mocktails as we walked in, to a beautiful dinner of either chicken or lamb, the food was glorious and the tables upon tables of friendship groups made this night full of life and connection.

Filled with endless entertainment, the night began with scavenger hunts full of panic, adrenaline, and excitement before moving on to fashion parades featuring outfits creatively made from toilet paper. Our models confidently strutted their stuff to Madonna's song "Vogue".

The evening continued with awards voted by our cohort, including “Biggest Heart of Gold”, “Most Iconic Duo”, “Friend to Everyone” and many more. These awards celebrated the little things that make our year level feel like a family. We finished the night, the best way any celebrations should, with a dance, and on we went to have some of the greatest dance circles and contributions (including Ms Hobbs and Mr Cole – we thank you both for your participation!) of the whole night.  All students packed onto the dance floor for our final dances and sing-a-longs of high school. It was a brilliant night, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to celebrate our year level and recognise how hard we have worked and will continue to work!

On Friday 17 July, the Year 12 and Year 7 leadership teams also held a fundraiser BBQ for NAIDOC week, raising $1381 for the ‘Literacy for Life foundation’. From coin collection, to sausages, drinks and even combos, the planning and cooperation between the two year levels ran smoothly as posters were distributed, meetings were announced and the day itself, came as a nice result of all the hard work. As the Year 12’s leadership team finished off their final BBQ here at Norwood, they had the chance to pass their skills and operations onto our new Year 7 leadership team, giving them the opportunity to learn the steps of a fundraiser of this scale, particularly in the coin collecting!
