A Premier's Award

We are delighted that one of our Year 12 students was recently recognised with a Premier's VCE Award after achieving a perfect study score of 50 in VET Sport and Recreation last year as a Year 11 student. This is an exceptional accomplishment and a reminder of what can be achieved through dedication, perseverance and a commitment to excellence. Congratulations Will Kiefte.

Music Camp

It was a privilege to visit this year's Music Camp last week and see first hand the commitment and dedication of our music students and the Instrumental Music Staff. Our students not only enjoyed 3 days of intensive music practice, but relaxed together over craft sessions, candle making and outdoor activities. This is a unique camp, where students from all year levels collaborate together over all things music. Thank you to the teachers for supporting our aspiring musicians.

Sister Act

We are only 4 weeks away from opening night. Having enjoyed a sneak peak at some of the rehearsals I am impressed at the vocal leads and the nun's chorus. This is one of the biggest casts ever, as our newest Year 7s take to the stage. The stained glass windows are not to be missed as our Vocational Major students excel once again in the props and sets department.

Awards Assembly

Congratulations to all students who received an award this week at our Mid-Year Awards Assembly. These awards demonstrate student endeavour, excellence and leadership. Students receiving these awards have been recognised by their teachers for consistently demonstrating College values.

Moments of pride

The end of Term 2 was indeed a busy one, with so many students out in the community, participating in the City Experience, on Work Experience and visiting Central Australia and the Top End. It is these events that serve as reminders of the high calibre of students at this College. There have been so many instances of public acknowledgment of exemplary student conduct and numerous emails from Work Experience supervisors praising the efforts of our students. I often hear our teachers say that 'we have great students at this school'.

Strong Attendance

As a College our attendance average across the whole school sits at 91%. This is certainly something to be proud of and is considered exemplary compared to similar schools and state-wide attendance rates. 

Regular attendance remains one of the strongest predictors of academic success. Every lesson matters. Consistent attendance allows students to build knowledge progressively, engage in classroom discussion, receive immediate feedback from teachers and maintain positive learning routines.

Attendance also contributes significantly to students' health and wellbeing. Students who attend school regularly are more likely to feel connected to their peers, develop positive relationships with teachers and experience a stronger sense of belonging within our school community.
