Staff PD Week

Term 3 Week 3b

Before students returned from their holidays, our staff gathered for Professional Development Week - a time dedicated to being encouraged, equipped, and refreshed.

Each morning began with devotions led by Pastor Tim Flint from Wagga Wagga Evangelical Church, who shared a powerful and practical series titled "Christianity – Under the Bonnet." Using everyday car metaphors, Pastor Tim reminded us of the importance of tuning up our Christian lives - checking if we’re running rough, what kind of fuel we're using, and whether we're functioning as we should. His thought-provoking messages encouraged us to reflect on our worldview and asked the challenging question: Would there be enough evidence in our lives to convict us of being a Christian?

It was a meaningful and grounding way to begin each day, setting the tone for a week of growth and connection.

We had wonderful input from the Seasons of Life program from the MacKillop Foundation who gave training on Caring for our students – supporting their journeys through loss and grief’.

Staff had the opportunity to take part in a wide range of professional development sessions, including First Aid updates and Cyber Safety training. Beyond the learning, there was also time to connect and recharge.

A BBQ lunch - generously cooked by the Executive team - was a highlight, followed by a couple of hours of choice-based activities. Staff could participate in a Cooking Masterclass, explore creativity in a Painting Session, relax with a book or board game, or get active with a game of tennis.

These shared experiences not only built skills but also strengthened our sense of community and teamwork.
