Battle of the Bands

On Friday Week 10 of last term, we hosted our annual Battle of the Bands. It was a fun event filled with awesome bands and cheering crowds. We had 6 bands participate, all of them bringing remarkable performances and lots of energy. 

Our 3 judges, Dr Rahmi Jackson, Miss Leah Hector, and former student Freya Howard, had a hard time picking a clear winner. First place went to the band ‘Sayntz’ who performed the song ‘Skyfall’. The judges were very impressed with the coordinated costumes, outstanding vocals, and supporting band. 

In a close second was the band ‘Sem Voz’, performing an exciting instrumental rendition of ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our lovely judges, the music and sound student leadership teams, Mr De Villiers, Mr McLean, and plenty of others working hard behind the scenes.

A wonderful experience between teachers and students celebrating their style and creativity. Absolutely amazing talent and so much fun. Thanks to everyone who worked behind the scenes, those who performed and those who celebrated, those who cheered and those who sang along.
