Principal's Press

Dear Families,
Welcome back to Term 3!
During our recent Staff Professional Development week, we were privileged to hear from Tim Flint, Senior Pastor at Wagga Evangelical Church. He challenged us to reflect deeply on the extraordinary claims of Jesus, the rich historical evidence supporting the Bible, and how we share these truths with our students. We were reminded of C. S. Lewis’s powerful words:
“Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.”
This quote prompted honest reflection. How often do we live as though our faith is only moderately important - or even less? As educators, we are called to model a faith that is vibrant, thoughtful, and deeply rooted.
As Term 3 begins, we continue exploring the book of Ephesians together. In chapter 4, verses 1–16, Paul urges us to “live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” He speaks of equipping people for service, building unity in faith, and growing into maturity so that we are not “tossed back and forth by the waves” of shifting ideas and influences.
This passage beautifully aligns with the ministry of the College: to educate students in a way that prepares them for service, strengthens their faith, and equips them to stand confident amidst the many voices they will encounter in life.
Wishing your family every blessing as we begin another busy and purposeful term.
Warm regards,
Dr Rahmi Jackson

Writing Project
In our Staff Professional Development Week, we launched a whole-school project reviewing how we teach Writing. Our writing project is developing a consistent approach for teaching elements of writing to K-12. We are drawing from the explicit teaching elements of The Writing Revolution as well as the Australian Education Research Organisation’s Writing Instruction Model. The project will focus on how we teach students: simple sentences, compound sentences, complex sentences, sentence combining, writing paragraphs and extended writing in different contexts. Staff are already experimenting with the methods, and we look forward to helping our students grow in confidence and ability in their writing.
Uniform
The College is continuing to consider the feedback received regarding student uniforms. Secondary parents met with Dr Jackson and Mr Xeros last Tuesday afternoon to give additional feedback. If you were unable to attend that time and would like to send additional comments to inform the uniform review, please email g.xeros@wwcc.nsw.edu.au.
As you can imagine, every aspect of the uniform has a tension of some groups who like that feature and other groups who do not. The College is taking the time to ensure we hear from a broad range of the community before making any decisions. Any changes will allow for appropriate transition periods.
Uniform reminders
To ensure student safety across our varied learning environments, all students must wear appropriate enclosed footwear while on campus. Open footwear - including slippers, crocs, thongs, sandals, or any shoes that do not fully protect the foot - is not permitted, as it poses a safety risk. Students who arrive without suitable footwear will be unable to participate in activities or access playground areas until appropriate shoes are provided by a parent or guardian.
Notice of Withdrawal
As we begin finalising enrolments for 2026, we are currently managing waiting lists across several year levels.
If you are aware that your child may not be continuing at the College next year, we kindly ask that you notify our Enrolments Team as soon as possible. Early notice greatly assists us in planning and offering places to families on our waiting list.
If you are aware of any families wanting to enrol their children for next year, please encourage them to contact us as soon as possible as several year groups are already full for next year.
A reminder that, as per our enrolment agreement, families are required to provide at least one term’s notice of withdrawal or pay one term’s tuition fees in lieu.
