HELLOOO APOLLO!

With Term 1 coming to an end, the entire Apollo leadership would like to say thank you for an Absooolutely, Amazing, Apollo, start of the year! This term was filled to the brim with surprises from our podium finish for athletics to all the preparations our many teams have been making for our win for the house cup, including house art and house dance. 

On the topic of athletics, we are beyond proud of you all, from our first place finish in both the house costumes and the continuous relay, to our 3rd place podium finish for the house chant and athletics overall!

Moving forward, let’s work hard towards all the upcoming competitions next term and our chorals win! Don’t forget to log your Active April hours, practice Get It Done and There’s Nothing Holding Me Back AND MOST IMPORTANTLY GET EXCITED FOR ANOTHER AMAZING TERM!!!

Blackwood

HEY BLACKWOOD!!

It’s been an absolutely stellar start to the year for us - congratulations all of you for everything we’ve achieved this term. It’s been as fulfilling as it has been busy, starting with getting FIRST in the swimming carnival, once again proving victorious as well as finally regaining our swimming streak we lost a couple years back!

Next, we're thrilled to announce an outstanding second place in the athletics carnival! A big thank you and congratulations to all our athletes on the day who made all of this possible, we couldn’t have done it without you! 

We also wanted to mention; well done on getting FIRST PLACE in athletics house spirit!! The turnaround was shocking - from zero in swimming spirit to hero in athletics. All of your house spirit was absolutely there, and the chant was honestly the best (and loudest!) we’ve seen in the four years we’ve been at this school - your effort and enthusiasm made us all very proud. Special shoutout to our very first Blackwood cheerleading team who manned the chant. You guys made it an even more memorable moment for all of us. 

Apart from those, get ready as we’ve been preparing behind the scenes for many exciting events such as House Dance and Chorals…but we’ll save that for next term! Also, a big thank you to those who submitted a piece for House Art. 

As you all probably already know, we are in FIRST PLACE! Obviously, this is amazing, but don’t start slacking yet; next term will once again be filled to the brim with house points up for grabs so make sure to put in your absolute best effort and participate in anything you can. The most notable of these is Chorals, so please make sure you have the lyrics to our two mass songs (Get It Done and Can’t Stop the Feeling) completely learnt and ready to go by the time we come back to school. 

Now a message from our sports captain: 

Firstly, I’d like to say amazing work on coming in second in athletics as well as that amazing step up in house spirit!! The energy was truly electric. Every effort from just cheering in the crowd, stepping up as student helpers, to participating in events and that wonderful cheerleading squad (shout out to Bavna and Kameron) was admirable and demonstrates exactly what makes us Blackwood. I’m sure I can speak for our entire leadership team when I say WE ARE ALL SO PROUD OF YOU. Coming up we have Active April beginning- so let’s keep going and try to rack up as many hours as we can. 

Every single minute counts! Additionally, next term there will be more opportunities for you to participate in the sport domain, such as House Netball and for our year 12s the GBA. There’ll be more information posted on each year's Google Classrooms, so please keep an eye out. Kororoit

HEY KOROROIT!!

*Woosh* Did you hear that? 

That was the sound of term 1 FLYING past us. It has been an action-packed start to the year, and an amazing headstart for Kororoit! All of your efforts have paid off greatly because…<Photos>WE WON ATHLETICS. We’re so proud of all of you, and especially our athletes who brought our win streak to EIGHT YEARS RUNNING! Let’s keep this energy going for the rest of the year. Even though we placed 4th in house spirit, we’re still so happy with all of our efforts during the entire event! Also a big thank you to everyone who submitted a work for House Art, we know you’ve worked hard behind the scenes. 

Currently we’re second place and only a few points behind Blackwood, but there is a way we can get ahead of the game… Active April! These are easy points we can get in the bag, so make sure you and your friends participate and secure us a win! All physical activity counts, so go and log your hours in the google form. You can find it on compass or the Kororoit year level google classrooms.

The big fish, CHORALS, is coming up! You’re all doing so well but make sure you really know the lyrics and listen to our amazing songs Get it Done and Live While We’re Young over the break. We believe in you Kororoit, so rest up on the holidays, log your Active April hours, and let’s CRUSH TERM 2!

Rothwell

HEYY YOUUU ROTHWELL!!

Can you believe we’re already a quarter through the year? We’ve had a spectacular start to the year and as Term 1 comes to a close, it’s a great time to reflect on the energy, commitment, and spirit that have defined Rothwell over the past few months. 

Our swimmers set the tone early this term, showing incredible determination and house pride at the swimming carnival where we got first place in house spirit (yeaaaaaa!!!) Huge shoutout again to every Rothwellian that got involved, whether it was swimming or wearing something yellow and cheering on your peers, we couldn’t have done it without all of you!!

That same intensity carried straight into athletics. Every event, every race, every jump and throw, Rothwell showed up. The effort, resilience, and willingness to give everything for the house really stood out, and it’s that mindset that builds something bigger than just results. And now, all eyes are on Chorals.

Chorals is right around the corner, and the excitement is building fast! Make sure that you’re turning the volume up to our 2 fantastic songs: Get it Done by Guy Sebastian and Lush Life by Zara Larsson!! LETS BRING THE ENERGY AND SHOW EVERYONE WHAT WE’RE MADE OF ROTHWELL!!!!

Right now, we’re sitting at third but the gap to first is only 30 points, and THAT'S NOTHING. We are still very much in the hunt and we need to put our 1000000% effort into every event that we do from now on, but we very much believe and know that we are capable of anything. Make sure to sign up for Active April, it’s a great way to stay active throughout the holidays and bring in valuable points for the house. 

We’d like to make a special shoutout to all of the amazing Rothwellian artists who were a part of House Art!! You guys are super duper incredible and all of the hard work and dedication is paying off with the creative and amazing artworks. We’re so lucky as a house to have you guys represent us, so thank you all!!

We’d like to wish everyone a very safe and hopefully productive school holidays, let’s come back into Term 2 refreshed and ready to dominate!
